Bandung, env.itb.ac.id – The sound of blasted cheers sounded through the Institut Teknologi Bandung campus (ITB) Jalan Ganesha, no. 10 on the Sunday Morning (13/10/19). To celebrate the 100 years of ITB anniversary moment, since 2017 ITB held marathon competition with the theme of “BNI-ITB Ultra Marathon 200K”.
This event was made as one of the ways to regain a friendship between the alumni of ITB, also with a few more running organization from the other university, company, and industry, also the other running community. BNI-ITB Ultra marathon including few categories:
Firstly, a universal category, in which include the 200k individual and Relay Team. With cut off time until 32-36 hours, the route that must be through is Jakarta-Bogor-Cimahi-Bandung. Since Friday (11/10/2019), the contestant was started running from BNI central in Sudirman, Jakarta, and ended in full glory in Basketball court, ITB campus. Secondly, the fun run category with the 5k race lane from the starting point of Alun-Alun Bandung which also ended up in Basketball court in the ITB campus.
IATL team participates in BNI-ITB Ultra Marathon on Friday-Sunday (11-13/10/19). From thousands of participants, most of them are alumni of ITB, including the Environmental Engineering alumni from the various class year. The Envirunment: Run for Environment as the delegacies of Ikatan Alumni Teknik Lingkungan (IATL) have three-team, one team for the 2nd relay category and two teams for 18th relay category. All the participants started the marathon from 22.00 WIB from the start point.
First team for 2nd Relay category are Chaidir Akbar (TL ’99) and Firman Gunawan (TL ’99). With distance divided into 94km for first runner and 106km for the second runner, Chair and Firman finished the race for ±30 hours 30 minutes.

IATL also sent out two teams for the 18th Relay category from various year class who lead by Adi Setya (TL ’89). Started from the oldest alumni year 1982 all the way to the 2014 alumni, all participated in this marathon. Even though they represented different class years, the bond as Environmental Engineering Alumni brings the participant together to get through the finish line at 3 PM at the ITB Ganesha campus.

This marathon also becomes the event to create a stronger bond between alumni of Environmental Engineering “It was so fun to run in the track with Environmental engineering alumni. So we become closer, become more one!” said fariz (TL ’06), one of the participants from the 18th Relay category.
Not only the IATL who joined the fun but also Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Lingkungan (HMTL) who supported the event, with one of the way cheering up the runner who finished their race in ITB Ganesha Campus.

Besides campaigning for the healthy lifestyle, this event was hoped to be the place where the spirit and the solidarity of ITB alumni growth, especially the Environmental Engineering alumni. “We hoped that next year all the alumni (EnvE alumni) could join the event, run in the name of IATL.” Said Fariz.
