This year, thousands of participants\njoin the festive on Friday-Sunday (11-13\/10\/19). In 2015, Firgun determines to be more disciplined at\nworking out. Until now, he did succeed in becoming the community head starter\nof \u201cBerau Runners\u201d. The goals are to spread the virus of doing sport,\nespecially running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Intensive Preparation&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make sure he always trained, Firgun targeted to participate in two\nmarathon every single year. At lease, the intensive preparation is needed 4\nmonths in advance before a full marathon. \u201cIf not joining some competition, we\ndon\u2019t have any target, and it became something that makes us lazy to train,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/kampus.tridayaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/firgun2-683x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kampus.tridayaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/firgun2.jpeg 683w, https:\/\/kampus.tridayaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/firgun2-200x300.jpeg 200w, https:\/\/kampus.tridayaonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/firgun2-600x900.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><figcaption> Firgun when passing Puncak-Bandung <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since early July, Firgun always discipline to train in the gym every\nearly week to run in a treadmill and train his muscles. At the weekend he runs\naround 21 km \u2013 61 km a day. In the peak of exercise, Firgun could run for 60km\non Saturday and Sunday he could run up to 42km.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firgun has principle on how to stimulate the training as much as the\nrace and didn\u2019t do things that aren\u2019t prepared when training. How to cope\nmentality of training like you\u2019re competing and compete as you trained.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s better to suffocate when training but felt happy in the race, the\nopposite, we\u2019re lazy when exercise but when compete we\u2019re suffocating, all our\nbody ache, until collapse,\u201d said the man who used to love to play\nfootball.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Firgun inserts the low-carb diet in his daily routine with including\nmore fat and protein to his diet. These thing has been done because for the\nlong period of sport such as Ultra Marathon, the source of energy that will be\nused are fat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only that, but the sleep time was also important so he always tried\nto sleep for a minimum of seven hours a day so his body would heal faster and\nmore efficient from exhaustion. To recover from sore muscle, Firgun relaxes his\nmuscle with roller every two weeks and also do massage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The preparation that is also important for Firgun to face the Ultra\nMarathon is to complete the gear. From the shoes, hydro bag, soft flask bottle,\nwater bladder, arm cooler, to the gear of comfortable, light and soft material\nclothes.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Relay 2 Category 200KM run<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting from Friday (11\/10\/19), all the participants from the different\ncategories started from 10.00 PM WIB at BNI center in Sudirman. Jakarta.\nChaidir as the first runner started running with a distance of 94km until\n\u00b112.00 WIB with the position at Puncak, and for Firgun he had to go through a\ndistance of 206 km. According to him, the\ncondition of the downhill route could be a misleading thing because it wasn\u2019t\nthat easy. Even though the pace of running is already set from the very\nbeginning, the route condition could change all of those things. Firgun\nexplains, \u201cIn the beginning, we tend to over-speed. It\u2019s hard to break or stop\nbecause naturally, we\u2019re rolling down. We were overworked the muscle to control\nit, so it made us tired a bit faster,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Armed with nutrients that have been dissolved in water and stored in a\nwater bladder, Firgun remains powered all the way. &#8220;Run for 15 hours.\nThere is no feeling of sleepiness. Hunger didn\u2019t exist. I don\u2019t feel bored.\nNutrition can be fulfilled, more easily digested and consumed, &#8220;he\nexplained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;At the end of the trip, Firgun&#8217;s desire to move forward was still\nthere but his ability was decreasing. &#8220;Breathing is still okay. The heart\nrate is still okay. More than that, running teaches him to always think positively, to\nfocus on targets, to plan and make a good strategy, and always be disciplined\nand committed to plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&#8220;Don&#8217;t think about losing your weight but you investing in\nyour health. Don\u2019t be busy making a living now, but when you are older you\u2019re\nbusy with therapy, treatment. For now, enjoy some regular exercise, eat\nanything you want, don&#8217;t worry too much.&#8221; He said. Firgun also never\nconsidered running as competition to compete with others. &#8220;Running is not\nabout defeating others, but about defeating yourself. Our laziness, our\nego.&#8221; Firgun finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;One of the reasons why Firgun joined the BNI-ITB Ultra Marathon\nwas a sense of togetherness. &#8220;ITB Ultra is interesting because it&#8217;s not\nonly a sport but more elements of togetherness. We can get closer to other\nclasses and majors. It can be a reunion with our department or class. &#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Running Tips and Tricks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Finally, Firgun conveys some tips and tricks related to running\nthat can be applied, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;1. Purpose. Make sure you have a clear goal. Run not just targeted\nto lose weight. Targets must be specific, measurable, and
